Carbience

Materials made from CO₂, specified for industry

Carbience's portfolio spans bulk cyclic carbonates (ethylene and propylene carbonate), NIPU polyols and dedicated carbonate monomers (BA-DCC and PEG-DCC), polycarbonate polyols, and flame-retardant polyols. Every product is built on CO₂ conversion and designed for economic viability through lower OPEX and CAPEX.

Dicyclic Carbonates and NIPU Polyols

Using LEP™ technology, Carbience supplies carbon-reduced DCCs, which are transformed into high-performance polyols for polyurethane (PU) applications. We supply customized polyols based on bisphenol- and aliphatic-backbone DCCs to meet customers' specific requirements.
BA-DCC
Bisphenol-A dicyclic carbonate — rigid NIPU networks for coatings & adhesives
PEG-DCC
Polyethylene glycol dicyclic carbonate — flexible segments for resins & PSAs

Lab-optimized · 10 kg scale-up in progress · outsourced production & sales from 2026
WHY IT MATTERS
Isocyanates face tightening EU REACH restrictions. NIPU is the exit route — and DCC monomers are its bottleneck.

Flame-retardant polyols

Carbonate chemistry extended into polyurethane raw materials — combining recycled-PET polyols with cyclic carbonates to create flame-retardant PU polyols.
Carbonate-integrated rPET flame-retardant polyol
Waste-PET polyol with carbonate groups that release CO₂ under thermal decomposition — a built-in flame-retardant mechanism for polyurethane insulation, driven by Korea's stricter building codes. Patent filed.

What buyers ask about CO₂-derived materials

What is cyclic carbonate used for? +
Cyclic carbonates are strongly polar base chemicals used as battery electrolyte solvents, industrial solvents, adhesive and coating components, and precursors for polycarbonate and polyurethane. EC and PC are the most widely used.
What is NIPU and why does it need DCC monomers? +
Non-isocyanate polyurethane (NIPU) replaces toxic isocyanates — increasingly restricted under EU REACH — with reactions between dicyclic carbonates (DCC) and amines. NIPU-dedicated DCC monomers like BA-DCC are its key bottleneck, and no global carbonate major supplies them.
How does using Carbience materials reduce carbon? +
Each product chemically fixes CO₂ inside the material itself — permanently, unlike fuels that re-emit on combustion — and is produced through a process using over 50% less energy than conventional routes.
Can I get samples or a TDS? +
Yes — evaluation samples and technical data sheets are available for NIPU monomers and FR polyols ahead of 2026 supply. Contact us with your application and target specification.
